Zeiss 10×40 BGAT are simply as they say CLASSICS ! I’ve had the latest all singing /dancing modern designer bins costing 1000.00 you can keep them .
If you are lucky enough to find a second hand pair of 10×40 BGAT get them.
you only have to look at all the sales of second hand stuff around and there are hundreds of modern bins to choose from , I rest my case if you have a pair of 10×40 BGAT it’s odds on you have had them for years
The above is a genuine comment from a US user on a birding forum, I would entirely agree. However I have recently retired and must sell my spare pair (although my wife is keeping hers). Whilst they obviously show signs of wear (paint on focusing ring and logo etc) they were recently serviced/refurbished by an official Zeiss authorised repair centre, and lanyard and strap were replaced by new items (not fitted). In fact the focusing ring is now a little stiff as they haven’t been used since and need a bit to loosen up. Please don’t bother with silly offers as I really don’t want to part with them. Despite the age, unless you want to spend more you won’t find better binoculars.
Please note refurbishment doesn’t cover the external lenses, but re-collimation, resetting and replacing armour, strap etc. The lenses will show marks if viewed under a magnifying glass, due to age, but nothing that affects performance, they are optically perfect.
The original leather case is included but unfortunately the zip is broken.
Although I have a list of countries I will not send to, I am happy to if I receive payment first, as I have been subjected to several attempted scams in the past, plus the item will only be sent if it can be insured, which may be costly.
