Structurally, the outer casing of the binoculars comes in a predominantly sound condition. Aside from some minor cracks to the plastic surround that circles the left objective lens, there are no other signs of cracks to the binoculars’ outer casing, nor can I see any incidence of breakages, repairs or chips. Aesthetics-wise, the binoculars have acquired some evidence of surface scratching, scuffing and paintwork loss, but the majority of this is of a relatively low intensity (albeit just occasionally it is a little more pronounced). I have uploaded a number of photographs of the binoculars, so please do take a close look at these to help make your own assessments regarding their condition.
Optically, the binoculars continue to provide a sharp image. When looking backwards through the binoculars’ objective lenses, I can see no damage to the internal prisms. There is, though, a light-to-moderate internal clouding within the binoculars’ left barrel, as well as one minor hint of fungal growth plus a slight presence of internally-located fibres. In contrast, the binoculars’ right barrel is free from any significant clouding, but it too contains a small speck of fungal growth, whilst a small number of internal fibres can also be seen. The outer surfaces of the objective lenses would appear free from any significant scratching (although it is possible I may have missed some of a lower intensity). Regarding the outer surfaces of lenses of the left and right eyepieces, please note that these do seem to have experienced losses to their surface coating, which is almost scratch-like in appearance. I have uploaded a couple of close up photographs of this (one of the left eyepiece, the other of the right), so please take a close look at these as they should hopefully neatly illustrate what I have explained above. Thankfully, the above imperfections do not seem to have too detrimental an effect upon the optics of the binoculars, but nevertheless, please do take them into account when bidding.
Adjustments to the relative positions of the binoculars’ barrels are slightly on the stiff side but still fairly manageable. The binoculars are brought into focus via a main central focusing dial, as well as a focusing dial associated with the right eye-piece. The movement of the former remains nice and smooth, but the latter is a little on the stiff side.
The binoculars come with a pre-attached neck-strap; two Tasco objective lens caps come included, but there are no lens cap for the eyepieces. The binoculars comes with a Tasco Zip soft case. Be aware that the case’s zip is slightly erratic but seems to be okay at the time of writing (this may not last for long though). From its time in storage, the case has acquired some signs of scratching, scuffing and marking.Approximate dimensions (maximum) of the binoculars: 20.5 cm (width) x 17.8 cm (depth) x 6.5 cm (height).
Weight of the binoculars (with neck-strap): 1,046 grams.__  __  __  __  __  __  __  __  __  __  __  __  __  __  __  __  __  __  __  __  __  __  __  __  __  __  __  __  __  __  __
