SkyWatcher 150P
2″ Focuser Deep Sky Model : 150mm Parabolic Reflector.

A very nice condition 150mm f5 Parabolic Newtonian Telescope.Focal Length of optical system 750mm. SkyWatcher’s ‘advanced level’ instrument has a number of features to keep visual experience high! This telescope was bought as an OTA. So, it can be mounted on any mounting with the standard dovetail fitting:Eyepieces:Super 25mm = 30xPlssl 9 mm = 75xThis telescope can utilise 2 eyepieces for superb Deep Sky views.(See pic of adapter ring.)

Focuser:SkyWatcher 2 adjustable drag focuser with 1.25 adapter for regular eye-pieces.

Finder:SkyWatcher 6x30mm optical cross-hair finder.

2xBarlow:SkyWatcher 2xBarlow lens.  Doubles the focal length of the primary = Double the magnification of any eyepiece used with it:25mm with Barlow =  60x
9mm with Barolw   = 150x

Mounting:This telescope, with its dovetail bar and tube rings fitting, can attach to any standard dovetail mounting. In this case, it is mounted on, and you are bidding on, a very nice condition CelestronEQ3 with Slow Motions: (see pics).
Right Ascension = Worm 360 degree, with control knob. Declination =         Segmental control, with control knob.PolarAxis  =          Set to 52 degrees North.Extendible steel tripod legs and accessory tray.

Nice Big Aperture of 150mm / 6″Magnitude limit (stars) = 13.5MResolution (Dawes) = 0.77Max useful magnification = 300X

PARABOLIC MIRROR                                              (Most important!)Parabolic mirrors bring all the light to the same focus. If you buy a telescope with a spherically figured mirror you will have fuzzy stars and blurred detail on the planets at best!SkyWatcher put a P on the end of the code number so you’re clear!

This is a great starter or follow-on scope as it has great light gathering power but a short tube to help get to grips with handling a telescope on an equatorial mounting whilst enjoying relatively little ‘windshake’. The 2 focuser is found on serious instruments where the observer wants the very best views from his excellent optics. It also helps with astro-photography.

The telescope is mounted on a proper equatorial mounting, with ‘slow motion knobs’, which is easy to set up and will allow you to follow the heavenly bodies easily.
This model is not too heavy to move in and out to the observing site evenfor young teens at 15Kg.

What Wonders Will You See?

Imagine yourself at the controls of this impressive instrument beneath a crisp, coal black, winter’s night, slewing effortlessly from object to glittering object, following your own programme of celestial discovery!
Solar System:
This telescope will show you great detail on the planets:
Mercury and Venus: Will show their phases. (Mercury is distinctly pink!)

Mars: Will show dark markings and the polar cap when extensive.
Asteroids: You can see at least 30. (You can find any that is above Magnitude 11 reliably.)

Jupiter: Will show 2 – 4 belts (and, of course, its four Galilean moons).
Saturn: Will show its ring system clearly, including the Cassini division, and Titan + 4 to 5 other moons on a ‘good’ night.
Uranus and Neptune: Will be visible as tiny green/blue discs.

And Comets!
(You can’t reliably see Pluto by eye in this scope.)  Moon*: You will be able to explore the craters, mountains, rills and valleys of the Moon when it’s in a phase, and the ray craters when it’s full.  Superb views that will amaze!
*(The Moon pics. in this auction were taken with this telescope using a smartphone and holder. [Not included])

Deep Sky:
This telescope will gather enough light to show magnitude 13.5M stars and11.5M Nebulae / Galaxies and Comets! (Comets sort of fall into both categories!)
It will show all the Messier objects (M1 to M110) and many more NGC galaxies, nebulae and star-clouds too.

The Andromeda Galaxy M32, The Great Nebula in Orion M42, the trapezium is easily split. The Dumb-bell Nebula M27,The Great Globular in Hercules M13 The Ring Nebula M57The Beehive M44

…are all seen to advantage in this telescope.

The Pleiades, the Seven Sisters M45, will reveal many more members of their extended family in low power views that will amaze! Currently the ‘Winter Sky’ is on view and represents the ‘best’ of amateur astronomy objects of the year!  A great season to start!All-in-all a really superb, hardly used telescope that will show lots of detail, without breaking the bank or being too difficult to use.
About Me:
I do not sell rubbish telescopes – My feedback depends on it!Rest assured this is a very nice instrument restricted only by its physical optical abilities.
I have 44+ years experience observing with telescopes and want you to have a great experience with your telescope!
I only sell scopes that will be useful to amateur astronomers.
I am not being sarcastic when I warn you that second hand telescopes may not be suitable for presents, if you expect things to be perfect!  This one is very good condition.+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++I will package the telescope and the mounting separately for your peace of mind in good quality sturdy cardboeard boxes with plenty of bubblewrap.

Not the original boxes…Sorry.
There will be two boxes of app. 9Kg and 13kgI will take on the excess postage (It will be about 48!)  Which I think is rediculous – I will help out in that respect – I will only charge 35 for postage!
