Orion GoScope II 70mm f5 400mm F/L refractor

Nice wide field scope – Will show Conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn on 21st perfectly!
I must say, as an experienced astronomer, the star images in this telescope are amazing!  Pinpoint stars, even bright ones!

I have done this as a Buy It NOW so you can get it in time for the conjunction – If you buy before Thursday!  I will dispatch within the hour!
This excellent telescope is ideal for finding your way around the sky for the first time!

Offer Includes:
Eyepiece = 10mm = 40X
Mounting=  Alt-Az (Very simple extending tripod. Manual)
Finder = Optical 5x22mm finder included with this scope.
Useful Aperture of 70mm

This is an ideal starter scope as it has great light gathering power but a short tube to help get to grips with handling a telescope on a simple mounting, whilst enjoying relatively little ‘wind shake’.
The telescope is mounted on a light and easy to use alt-Az mounting, which is very easy to set up and will allow you to locate the heavenly bodies easily, using the finder.
This model is very light to move in and out to the observing site even for young children. As you can see from the pics, it will fit into a very small space for storage, if space is a premium.

Setting up is easy:Simply loosen the knob a little to allow easy movement of the tube. You can set up on a table on the deck or lawn easily for observation sessions.

Remove the tube cap and fit the eyepiece into the draw-tube.

Use the knobs below the draw-tube to focus the image.
What Wonders Will You See?

Imagine yourself at the eyepiece of this impressive and simple little instrument, beneath a coal black winter sky, slewing effortlessly from object to glittering object following your own programme of celestial discovery!

Solar System:
This telescope will show you all the basics of general astronomy:-
Detail on the planets:  You will need a 2xBarlow to see detail on the planets. Used with the 10mm eyepiece this would give 80x magnification.

Mercury and Venus: will clearly show their phases.
Mars: will show its disc.
Asteroids: You can see at least 10, if you can track them down!
Jupiter: will show at least two bands / belts and, of course, its four Galilean moons.
Saturn: will show its rings and Titan, its biggest moon, easily + 3 others.
Uranus and Neptune: will be visible as tiny greeny-blue star-like discs.
(You can’t reliably see Pluto even with a 150mm telescope by eye! )
Moon: You will be able to explore the craters, mountains, rilles and valleys of the Moon when it’s in a phase, and the ray craters when it’s full.
DEEP SKY:You can easily see: Using the 10mm eyepiece alone.

The Andromeda Galaxy (M32), Orion Nebula (M42), Great Globular Cluster in Hercules (M13),The Dumb-bell Nebula (M27),and many more deep sky ‘Messier’ wonders. The Seven Sisters (M45) is a wonderful sight on low power.
At the moment we are enjoying the wonders of the late Autumn Sky. Jupiter, Saturn and Mars are all available after dark. Venus is on show in the East before dawn.All-in-all a really superb, little telescope that will show lots of detail, without breaking the bank or being too difficult to use.
About Me:
I do not sell rubbish telescopes – My feedback depends on it! – Rest assured this is a nice instrument restricted only by its physical optical abilities.  the mounting is a little loose at the top, but is functional enough and holds the scope still enough to see detail on the planets.

I have 40+ years experience observing with telescopes and want you to have a great experience with your telescope!
I only sell scopes that will be useful to amateur astronomers.
I am not being sarcastic when I warn you that second hand telescopes may not be suitable for Xmas presents, if you expect things to be perfect! This scope is in good condition but is not in the original box and has some evidence of use… but not much!
