Fantastic telescope, which I am selling as I have now upgraded to a 8″ reflector. A 5″ reflector, is really the minimum reflector size you need to enjoy the moon, Jupiter and Saturn, of course it is not just the planets, one of the best bits is simply pointing it at the milky way and simply scanning the horizon, with starts filling the scope. or Using a 5mm eyepiece (not supplied), I have managed to get a glimpse of the rings of Saturn. Saturn is now quite low in the sky, and the best I have managed. You can see Jupiter, and it moons, following them each night (as they rotate) around Jupiter, but don’t expect to see something like the pictures of the hubble. Realistically the images are quite small, and this telescope is best used as a nice starter scope for you to decide in the future if you want to upgrade to something bigger, like I have.
It is in great used condition, everything works as it should. It been used something like 10 times since new, so of course it has picked up a few marks, and some wear and tear. One of the handles for example, has a slight bend in it.
The manual is well read. All in all a great scope, not new so please don’t expect that, but certainly good used condition which makes for an excellent introduction to the hobby.
Supplied with the box, instructions, CD’s and both a 20mm eyepiece (erecting) and 10mm eyepiece, both 1.25″ and as supplied with the telescope from new. You will want to buy more, I quite like the 32mm eyepieces for example, but this can all come with time. For the moon, I would recommend a filter, but they are only a few quid.
Telescope will be packed away in box, as I need the space, but you will be welcome to fully unpack it and set up/test if you wish prior to completion of the sale.
