Carl Zeiss Jenoptem 8×30 Binoculars. Condition is “Used”. Dispatched with Royal Mail 1st Class.Genuine made in DDR Carl Zeiss binoculars. These are not the clones made in Japan (excellent though such clones are) but the real deal as shown by the seven digit serial number, metal focus wheel (with no groove) and the “DDR” stamp. On the top of the centre column.Externally, these are in excellent condition apart from some scratches as shown in the photos and the usual are related wear at the rims of the objectives. Optics are bright and clear and collimation/alignment is excellent. There is a Zeiss original 2mm thick genuine leather strap. The centre focus wheel is a little tight at one point but operates more or less smoothly. The dioptre works perfectly.The leather case is not original but holds the binoculars snugly protecting them from damage in transport or storage.
No strap on the case and no lens caps. These are the best binoculars I have ever owned. I am only selling them because I have another pair with optics just as clear and bright but I can only use one pair at a time.I don’t think you’ll be disappointed by this purchase. They are a delght to hold and look through. Light and easy to handle, they are ideal for bird watching, astronomy or any general purpose.
