These lovely vintage racing / theatre binoculars, probably date from between 1910 and 1930 based on some internet research.
The binoculars have a heavy metal frame with a cloth covering, which appears to be leather.
These binoculars are in good condition with the leather still in good condition with no flaking. There are a few patches of minor wear on the top and underneath where the fingers and thumbs would usually rest (see photos).
The metal body is in good condition, with some minor paint loss in places (see photos). The lenses extend and retract smoothly with the central wheel. The lenses work fine and the magnification and clarity of vision is good. There are no lens cracks, just a few spots of dust, which doesn’t impact on their use.
A lovely item for functional use or for a vintage prop display.
