This is an attractive and very useful pair of old binoculars named Nautique, by Marque Iris de Paris.
They are beautifully engraved on each of the Lens barrels. The right hand barrel carries the name Nautique over a roped Anchor. The left hand barrel has a stylised crest with the makers details:- Marque – Iris de Paris, Qualitie Guarantie.
These are old fashioned by present day standards in that they are primarily made of Brass with a japanned finish and leather bound barrels.
They have a single focussing wheel on a central pillar which extends and collapses both barrels.
For those who find modern binoculars difficult to use, these are the answer.
The optics are in excellent condition and the image produced is clear. You may find a couple of specks inside if you look through the wrong end but these do not deter from the clarity.
Not only that but these will be a talking point and the envy of many wherever you use them.
The case is made of leather an is sound but is in need of some attention.
