Carl Zeiss Jena Deltrintem 8×30 binoculars
No serial number evident but these are clearly an earlier model. I believe the Deltrintem was available from 1920 and suspect these wouldn’t be much older than that.
Functions well, both the centre focus adjuster and the right diopter are very smooth and adjust over their full range. Hinge is a little tight but adjustable.
Optics are perfectly clear with no evidence of damage and no dust, dirt or fungus visible.
Leatherette/vulcanite covering is intact and doesn’t appear loose. Metal surfaces have largely been stripped of paint and polished up. Original Zeiss-branded leather case is in lovely condition and the stitched seams all seem intact, the spring clasp at the front is worn but functions.
Overall, a nice usable example of an early Zeiss pair of binoculars.
The binoculars will be very well packaged with plenty of bubble wrap and newspaper in a sturdy box which will be taped up as Fragile.Obviously this is a vintage item and the buyer must take this into consideration when bidding.
