Refractor Telescope 80mm Semi-APO
I purchased this around 18 months ago and it has been brilliant.
I was using it, to begin with, as a guide scope for my SCT but it was just too good to be used purely for that.
I have used it to take some photos of the moon (used it with a barlow), many nebula and some of the larger star clusters. It has a little chromatic aberration, as you would expect at this price point, but it’s not bad at all.
I also used it for wildlife photography which it is brilliant for.
Has an 80mm objective lens and a focal length of 400mm (F5), fantastic for wide angle astrophotography. Extendable dew shield, it’s also removable if you wish to. Dual speed 10:1 focusser, really helps to dial in the focus.
I upgraded to this from the well known SkyWatcher ST-80, the focusser on this telescope is miles ahead of the one on the ST-80. The optics are also a a great improvement.
Comes with a 45 degree 1 1/4″ prism, a 10mm plossl lens, both with dust caps, Bahtinov mask and a screw on dust cover fitted to the scope. All inside a handy carry bag.
The scope has a 2″ lens eyepiece holder and a 1 1/4″ reducer.
The optics are clean and scratch free, the tube has some very slight marks from transport and the dovetail has screw clamp marks as you would expect.
This sale does not include a tripod, you will need to supply that yourself. Telescope can be used with either a vixen style clamp or it accepts standard 1/4″ camera mounts
