TheKOWA brand was one of the first Japanese sourced prismatic `spottingscopes` brands, first appearing I think in the 1950`s. Thebrand has since then been at the forefront of optical designproducing both binoculars and scopes though they are probably betterknown for their spotting scopes especially in the U.K. Verypopular with birders, they have consistently been strong sellers dueto fine optical ability and good build quality. Thelatest top KOWA scopes & eyepieces are VERYexpensive today!!Hereis a great outfit for someone; a rare KOWA TS614PROMINAR 60mm SPOTTING SCOPE with E.D. GLASS (extra low dispersion);with FULLY MULTI COATED OPTICS; twinned with a goodKOWA 20xEYEPIECE;and..a green STAY-ON CASE fromIN FOCUS withshoulder strap whichI believe has been fitted since scope was new..and finally..anexcellentVELBONSHERPA250TRIPOD withPH157Q head with quick release head,and a maximum normalworkingheight of 157cmapprox.TheTS614 also features a sliding lens hood, a rubberised finish to thehood and around the front of the scope, plus the eyepiece has arubber fold down eyecup. There are no lens caps.Allof these items are in good condition but do showsightsigns of wear as you would expect, but most importantly the highresolution opticsare clear and bright and the mechanical operations are all smooth andpleasant to use.
