These Noctovist have been described as the poor mans Carl Zeiss butthey were actually made by Ruhnke Optic Rathenow, a small company that waslater incorporated into Carl Zeiss.This pair are in excellent optical condition, pristine internally,unmarked externally. They have small eye lenses and the field of view is onlymoderate but the optics are fully coated and the image is brightand very sharp indeed, colours really stand out – excellent for use in dull conditions and seeing detailsin bird plumage or anything where fine detail needs to be resolved.They are also in very good external condition, almost like new.Alignment is perfect.Focus is smooth with a slight grittiness, diopter worksperfectlyThe binoculars are not waterproof but they have been sealed round the top and bottom plates to help prevent moisture getting into the optics.They have a new webbing strap but unfortunately the original case is missing. Now they have a case with a belt strap only.(see photos)
