Purchased a Meade 14 LX200, so having to sell a lot of equipment to fund this extravagance!
This is a Meade LX200 10 Classic Telescope.
Good condition for its age, please see photos. No rust on screws as you often see with these, its been well cared for indoors. I took a photo of some very slight paint bubbling, barely noticeable, please see photo
Optically superb, please see photos, with Bobs Knobs fitted to aid collimation.
Comes with 12.4mm Meade super plossl, the original 1.25 diagonal, 8x50mm finder, the correct 18v AC power supply (difficult to get), the metal lens cap, and screw on metal visual back (rare).
Electronically, Ive recently had the scope overhauled with an electrical engineer. Hes replaced the tantalum resistors (which eventually melt, see photo of removed resistors), and fixed a DEC runaway issue, so now both motors working smoothly.
**NOTE**. GOTO accuracy was showing a few gremlins in ALT/AZ mode, and tracking was also off. I was never 100% sure if it maybe an error in my setting up. Ive since been using this equatorial mounted on a wedge (not included in sale), with it tracking well. I havent actually tried GOTO functionality in this mode. I believe it will need recalibrated for GOTO use generally so have priced to take into account the telescope service required to resolve this issue.
