These binoculars are by Taylor & Hobson of Leicester and London
They are Power x6 and the right hand lens is adjustable.
They have an internal focus (which I assume is the “Patent Applied For”
They seem to be all brass under the paint and are basically built like a tank
The paint is worn in places, but only where you’d expect it to be (please see pictures and make your own judgement)
The only cleaning I’ve done is a wipe over the lenses with a soft cloth in order to check condition
The lenses are clear of chips and scratches, everything seems to function as it should.
The case is in a bit of a state, its made from cardboard covered in leather and is very worn in places with scratches and gouges all over. The stitching of the top of the lid has gone and needs to be redone, one of the shoulder strap loops is missing and going by the damage there were mounting studs or snaps on the sides of the case (these are not present).
There are the initials “RB” inked on the inside of the lid and an address inside the case, of which I can make out “39 Windsor Rd” but not the rest of it.
If it wasn’t part of this items history it would of gone in the bin….. I’m not convinced that such a cheap and shoddy looking case was original to these binoculars, however that is for the new owner to decide.
Would be ideal for a Re-enactor, I will be listing some other items
Prices include postage in the UK, and I will combine where possible
Overseas, I use Ebay’s Global Shipping Program
