SALANSON & CO.LTD. / BRISTOL & CARDIFF* Excellent original, unrestored condition* Achromatic 2.5 ” Objective or Field Lens. Excellent condition. No chips or scratches.* The twin elements are separable for cleaning.* 3″ Leather-clad extending sunshield for Objective lens. It moves easily but positively.* Calibrated 1st Draw permitting magnification from 25x to 40x in steps of 5* Schryll-Huygens 4 Lens configuration mounted in brass cartridges the First & Second Draws * All 4 lenses have individual threads and be removed for cleaning. All are perfect.* Brass tube construction with stitched brown leather covering. Stitching all intact and original.* All brass sections have their original slightly darkened finish. There has been no restoration.* Focuses easily by the use of the Second Draw. Magnification level is then chosen on the First Draw.CONDITION:Absolutely excellent and virtually of museum quality as far as the telescope itself is concerned. Everything functions as it should. All threads are precise and easy to undo for routine maintenance. It delivers sharp and clear images over long distances. The magnification of course is variable by manipulation of the first pancratic draw tube. All the leather work is original and is in sound and usable condition.This is a well designed and engineered instrument for the professional user.FAULTS:None to the telescope.
