Zeiss Jena Telex Binoculars 6 X 24 with Original Case: Vintage 1922

DescriptionThis is a set of Zeiss Telex binoculars 6 X 24 with the original leather case. The serial number is 1129041 which, from the Zeiss factory data, dates them to 1922.

There are several internal dirt specs seen when the glasses are in use these are particularly noticeable when the individual focussing lenses are turned as they move around with the lens. The image does not seem faint or dimmed and there is no indication of fog or fungus. However, they are useable as they are.

These binoculars have not been examined internally but generally they seem in good condition with some paint loss around the edges and slight dents/dings around the metal surround of the main lens.

The focussing on both eyecups is positive, travels the full depth easily and is not loose; the movement on the central pinion is also positive and not sloppy.

There are no visible scratches to lenses and both the eyecups are in good condition; the case strap is broken but the strap on the binoculars is in good condition
