A Pair of 8×40 Cased Zeiss Deactis 1920/21 Manufacture Individual Focus.This is a nice old pair of cased Zeiss binoculars number 1148905 dating from the 1920s and in good clear condition.Large oculars give very good and wide view and they are military style individual focus.Case has had the fastener replaced and the hinge is a solid leather replacement.I suspect from the clarity of the image that these binoculars have at some time in their life been cleaned.Adjustment is smooth and they have the smooth ocular adjustment which was used on the later wartime Zeiss smooth ocular system.Fairly heavy at over a kilo but a real treat to see through.The leather covering is both intact and in good order.Some wear to the paintwork but they are getting on for a hundred years old.
