This model was produced from 1939-43, but I am informed that not more than 50 were imported to the UK before WW2 stopped imports in September 1939. This example has been professionally cleaned & is in perfect working condition, with beautifully smooth focus, no ‘lost motion’ or play, giving a superb image, with no marks or dust spots marring the view. There are no scratches on the lenses. Please see the photos for the external condition, not as mint as the optical condition, but still remarkable for a 77-year-old binocular. Notice that one-quarter of the outermost ribbed surface of the focus wheel is missing, but this has no effect on the focus action.The case shows marks & wear but works perfectly.  I have come across only one other example of this model in over 60 years of looking for the best binoculars. The eye-relief of this model is greater than that of the post-WW2 Oberkochen 15×60, which is more compact & has coated lenses. I cannot see any difference in the image quality, which is a tribute to the care taken in the production pre-WW2 of this uncoated model, which cost 38.10.0. at the time – over double the cost of my father’s first car – a secondhand Rover!
