Ok here we go, i love history so im going to give you the history about my binoculars,in 1969 i was a young lad living in london,me and my friend were messing around at a place called wormwood scrubbs thats in east acton london,my friend took hold of my arm and said look at that,the next thing me and my friend were looking at a ufo in the sky, we could see it clear as day,so thats how i started getting into buying a pair of binoculars, i started asking around about binoculars,the message i was getting was you must buy zeiss binoculars,anyway i looked in a few shops when i was about 16 years,it was then i new i could not afford a pair of zeiss,so i forgot about it for a few years,a few years past and im working now for my dad,so i started saving for a pair of zeiss,i had the money i went up to london to look in the shops,i found a shop in edgware road in paddington london,it was call the golf department it was an exchange and mart shop, they had about 200 pairs in the window only had two zeiss 10×50 and 15×60 i bought the 15×60 i think they cost 250 in 1977, i saved for months to afford them i came home whith no money told my mum and dad they cost me 25,other wise they would have said your stupid buying them at that price,i would take them up to wormwood scrubbs late at night lying on my back looking up to the stars hoping to see another ufo,anyway never seen another ufo,then i started getting interested in teenage things put the bins away got married had children just forgot about the bin’s,then about 2005 i started getting back into the bin’s only used them a couple of times,then in 2007 i took them to zeiss in luton to get them cleaned and serviced, there was no need to get them seviced the bin’s had no problems,i just got them serviced anyway.cost me 145 zeiss told me they were made in 1968,ok lets get back to the bin’s after they were serviced i used them a couple of times then put them away again,never used them since 2007,its taken me ages to put these up for sale thinking about it,forgot to ad there’s no case whith my bin’s,when i bought them the guy in the shop had hundreds of binocular cases in a room,he went to the back of the shop looked but could not find the case,he said come back next week i will have the case,went back next week he said he had no time to look for the case,he said come back the next week,anyway i never went back,i was a boy at the time if i was a adult i would have said sorry thats not good another,so i bought the case there in about 10 years ago,if your wondering what the workshop is in the back ground of the pictures,its my watchmaking work shop i restore vintage pocket watches,Will be posted in a big box sent by royal mail special delivery,so i think it will be about 10 there very heavy bins if it cost anymore i will just pay it myself,ok thanks for looking.steve
