WW1 French Military Binoculars with Case Lemaire Fabt Paris & Jumelle extra WW1 French Military Binoculars with Case Lemaire Fabt Paris & Jumelle extra On offer here is a Early pair of Binoculars in fitted Leather Case with Straps. Issue number 13341. The focus appears to be set using the eye pieces and a lever fitted on the right hand tube. Marked on one side LEMAIRE FABT PARIS with MG R 35 ( M.G. = Ministère de la Guerre.) On the other plate is marked Jumelle 12x Extra Lumineuse milliemes. I believe these to date from around or slightly before WW1.

Measuring 5 3/4 by 6 1/ 2 by 1 3/4 inches the binoculars have wear on the black surface exposing the brass and grey metal underneath. The optic look reasonably clear with a few shiney flecks on the lenses. The eye pieces are fairly stiff to move , the lever on the right eyepiece moves smooth in one direction and a bit irregular in the other direction. The leather case is in fairly good condition with scraping evident from the top, perhaps a name has been removed?, the inside lining cloth is worn at places and the top rim is a bit worn also. The top seems to just stretch to cover the sides, I am sure it is original like this. A nice pair of early Military Binoculars.
