 This is a premium quality Web Cam adaptor to fit any 1.25″ eyepiece holders such as a 1.25 inch telescope. I have been selling these great adaptors with a high qualityIR filter for a long time. I was told by a valued client that sometime an IRtilter is not need. For example it is probably better not to use a filter when imaging deepsky objects in black and white with hybrid telescope systems eg an SCT with acorrector plate or when using a focal reducer or eyepiece projection with anyreflecting telescope. Although the sharpness may be affected slightly, thiswill be offset by the shorter exposure times required (perhaps half) which willreduce the effects of tracking errors. The blurring due to atmosphericdisturbances is also greater than with short exposure planetary imaging andtends to mask any small focus errors. When taking LRGB colour deep sky images,the L image can be taken without an IR blocking filter and one added for theR,G,B images to improve colour rendition. Another example when an IR filter isnot needed is when using some commercial RGB filters that have IR blockingbuilt-in. Thus I have got these adaptors with no built-in IR filter for peoplewith such need.It has a standard M12x0.5mm thread and will fit most webcams. The only one I know so far that will not take this adaptor is a TESCO Value webcam.
At the 1.25″ side it also has female thread to take any standard 1.25 inch filter.CNC turned from aluminum and finished in matt-black anodic dye.It comes with a free 1.25″ dust cover for your convenience.
