Vintage La Mignonne Victorian French folding brass and leather binoculars opera glasses.
These opera glasses have a Faux Crocodile leather covered brass body with a brass push button and turning handle. The turning handle is engraved LA MIGNONNE a much sort after Parisian maker based at 12 Rue Barrette Paris. The opera glasses fold flat for ease of carrying in a gents pocket or ladies bag. The glasses open by pressing the little push button on the front edge and turning the handle. They fold away again by turning the little engraved handle and snapping the case closed. There is a small sticker with the original owners name and address on the front that adds to their charm
The leather covering the case is in excellent condition with minimal age related wear that does not detract from its overall presentation or use. There is a small tear of the leather concertina behind the rotating knob (this is only visible when the binoculars are open and is in place to stop light coming in)
The open and close mechanism is all in good working order. The focus wheel works smoothly and the lenses are in good condition.
The opera glasses are offered in excellent antique condition, when folded they measure about 10.8cm by 8cm
