Vivitar 7 x 50 binoculars. Around 20 years old but still in perfect optical condition. See pictures. Rubber armoured and with comfortable neoprene strap. Dioptre adjustment on right main lens.
One of the few pairs of decent binoculars produced by Vivitar. My local camera shop used to sell end of line equipment from the Vivitar UK main office which was in the same town. These had a retail price of around 80 20 years ago. Comparing the image with my 2015 Nikon Acculon 8 x 42 s there is very little to choose. The Vivitars give a brighter, wider image but with slightly less contrast. Both very comfortable to use for extended periods. Only downside is the Vivitars are quite heavy at 960g
Been my main birdwatching binoculars since purchase. Brilliant in wooded areas. The 7 x magnification gives a big depth of field so you only have to make minimal focus corrections, if at all. With birds that move perch to perch quickly you can find them straight away, none of this trying to focus through the foliage. Only selling as upgrading and can’t justify having so many binoculars. ( see my other listings )
