Up for sale are a pair of Carl Zeiss Jena Jenoptem 10x50W Binoculars. Serial number 105387. Complete with original brown leather case. Cosmetically, in quite clean condition with some mild general age and wear signs including some odd light paint wear to raised edges. As far as I can see, the optics are quite good internally although, as with most of these older binoculars, could be improved with a clean. Eye diopter functions well. Now the important thing to say is that there seems to be a problem with the central focusing mechanism. The wheel rotates perfectly well and the binoculars focus correctly. The problem is that when the front eye pieces extend outwards, they don’t have a stop point. Therefor, if you extend them too far then they will detach from the mounts. Whether this is because something is broken or they are assembled the wrong way, I really have no idea. Leather case is still in pretty nice condition. Offered up for spares or repair on a sold as seen basis. Any questions welcome.
