Vintage 1935 dated Carl Zeiss Telarem 18×50 binoculars, serial numbered 1708804. Come with leather neck strap, but no case. The binoculars are sold as needing some restoration. The central bridge action does work, but is stiff, so needs lubrication. The right diopter mechanism works. However, the central focus wheel appears to be seized, and does not move, so again needs lubricating. The optics are in pretty good condition for their age – they are free from chips and internal fractures, and without major scratches. There are a few fungal blooms to the right objective lens (see photos), and minor fungal growth internally. They are free from internal debris and obstruction. Cosmetically, there is some white oxidisation and corrosion to the metal fittings, and rubbing to the black paint. The leather barrel coating is in good condition, and the bakelite eyecups are undamaged.
