Teleskop-ServiceThis 114 mm Newtonian reflector is produced since many years, and with a good reason: The aperture is much higher than the one of a usual refractor for beginners, so darker objects can be viewed. But the resolution is also higher, giving sharper images even of brighter objects.Starting with the tripod and mount, the eyepieces for different magnifications, … – all you need is included. What you can see with this telescope: The MoonCraters and ridges can be seen easily. Watch the sun rise in the craters while more and more detail becomes visible! The PlanetsObserve the phases of Venus or the rings of Saturn. On Jupiter you can see many details including the atmospheric bands and the Galilean moons. Under good conditions you can see the great red spot – a huge hurricane twice the size of our home planet! The SunWith the Baader solar filter sheet you can easily build a solar filter that allows you to safely watch the activity on our own sun.  The StarsHundreds of distant objects are within reach of this telescope. Compared with the naked eye the telescope collects almost 140x as much light! Watch multiple stars with their often colourful components. Discover the ring nebula in Lyra – the remnants of an old star that has expired. You can even see objects outside our own galaxy: Globular star clusters that circle around our milky way, or the Great Andromeda Galaxy, our closest major neighbour galaxy. Here the improvement in light gathering power and resolution compared with a 60mm refractor will be particularly obvious. One of the left image shows the famous double cluster in Perseus (h + Persei). This is a beautiful object easily visible in the Starscope 1149. We recommend to use low magnifications on this stunning object! Warning for Solar Observations:  Never look directly at the sun with any telescope or binocular without the proper filters!TS Newtonian 114/900mm EQ3-1 complete telescope for Beginners 8+ For further selection of telescopes and accessories, please visit us in our online shop at telescope express.check out my other itemsTeleskop-Service is your competent partner for astronomy, photography and landscape observation. fascination of space and natureSpecifications:   Optical System:                Newtonian reflector telescopeAperture:           114 mmFocal length:      900 mmMagnification with supplied eyepieces:               36x, 90xResolution:        1.03″Limiting Magnitude:       12.1 magFocuser:              1.25″ rack & pinion focuserMounting:          equatorial mount EQ2-2 with slow motion controls in both axesTripod: aluminum tripod, up to 120 cm heightWeight optical tube:      3 kgWeight mount with counterweight & tripod:     7 kgAn ideal instrument for beginners who want to have a telescope that offers years of fun of observing but still on a budget. The StarScope 1149 has several quality features seldom seen in this combination in similar telescopes: particularly sturdy mounting and tripod. In many other telescopes of this class, an undersized mount is used to “simulate” a cheap price, but the performance of an undersized mount will seriously limit the usefulness of the telescope as a whole!
