The objective lens is an air spaced 50mm diameter achromat in excellent condition. Eyepiece assembly works fine incorporating nice clean lenses..
Now for the bit that will be your challenge. The focus ring is without a threaded collar that prevents the focusing mechanism from doing what it should – i.e. ‘sliding the whole eyepiece assembly either towards the objective ( for subjects at infinity) or rearwards (subjects much closer).That will be the challenge you face – other than finding the necessary screws to bolt the whole eyepiece assembly to the main telescope barrel. For the record, the eyepiece Zoom range is 15 to 45 and it works fine.
There you have it. A nice project starting with lenses that are ‘fit for purpose’ and leaving you to explore how your telescope really works, whilst fixing that mechanical problem.
