SWIFTbinoculars were the top Japanese made brand in the U.K. in the1960`s, 70`s & 80`s. Selling in top department stores,independent photographic shops and opticians, they were available onmost high streets. SWIFTTRILYTE roof prism binoculars were very good quality JAPANESE madeinstruments no doubt inspired by the very similar looking but muchmore expensive leitz & zeiss models from Germany. In todays used optics market, they stand out as a classic piece of japanese design – very retro though still very usable.This listing is for an unmarked example of the MARK III TRILYTE 10 x 40, there really are no obvious external signs of use – it is that good. Optically good too and easy to use with smooth focusing and good rubber fold down eyecups for spectacle wearers. This excellent example comes with its original case, all four lens caps, case strap and original neck cord. In addition, a new microfibre lens cloth is supplied.
Defectsare very few: the case lid has had its vinyl top re-glued at some point (very common on these 1980`s cases); a little very light internal haze a afew dust specks.itake great care examining, using and describing the binoculars isell, and always get a second opinion. however, i am not aprofessional and my description is based on my experience and honestassessment; most examples i sell are at least 35 years old and theremay be other defects…….also, please remember, everyone`s eyes aredifferent…..SPECIFICATION: SWIFT TRILYTE MkIII 10 x 40 roof prism binocular; multi coated optics; made in JAPAN; rubber fold down eyecups;serial number: 37-82619;field of view 341 feet at 1000 yards.;weight 575 grams; 867 grams including case and accessories.

Definitely collectable, SWIFT TRILYTES are a great retro binocular for a relatively small outlay. I think I`ve set the price of this lovely example about right, but make me avery very close offer if you prefer.
