SWIFTbinoculars were the top Japanese made brand in the U.K. in the 1960`s &70`s. Selling in top department stores, independent photographic shops andopticians, they were available on most high streets. Their advertising &packaging made a proud boast: world`s finest binoculars; the greatgerman manufacturers wouldn`t have agreed, but have no doubt, SWIFT`s top rangebinoculars were excellent in optical quality and value for money no wonderthey sold so well. So, what about today? Interest in 60`s & 70`s VINTAGERETRO style is everywhere, these swift top models ooze with it but are still sousable especially if like me, you like binoculars that look like binocularsshould! For me, the Mark One SWIFT SARATOGA from the 60`s and early 70`s wasone of SWIFT`s finest binoculars if not the best! Others may disagree ofcourse, but I`m weighing everything up here; optical ability; handling; buildquality; weight and general purpose 8 x 40 specification..and of course in 2015it has great retro appeal!!
