SWIFTbinoculars were the top Japanese made brand in the U.K. from the 1960`s throughto the 90`s. Selling in top department stores, independent photographic shopsand opticians, they were available on most high streets.This listing is for a rare SWIFT 8 x 22 compact binocular probably from the late 1970`s. In very decent condition, it produces clear views with focusing controls working well and external glass in good order. It comes complete with its original attached neck cord, all four lens caps and red lined case with wrist strap and working zip. The `duranex body` i assume relates to the type of alloy used for the casing.Defects: A few tiny external marks, and some slight under-paint corrosion on the bridge; some internal haze, and the folding hinges are in my view too loose – but i believe this was a feature of this model .i takegreat care examining, using and describing the binoculars i sell, and alwaysget a second opinion. however, i am not a professional and my description isbased on my experience and honest assessment; most examples i sell are at least35 years old and there may be other defects…….also, please remember,everyone`s eyes are different…..SPECIFICATION: SWIFT 8 x 22 roof prism compact binocular; multi coated; duranex body; made in Japan; serial number 011; field of view 7 degrees approx.; weight including case & all accessories 233 grams.These binoculars willbe thoroughly double wrapped & packed for the purchaser and will be sentusing a tracked service within the U.K. Carriage prices quoted are to mainlandU.K. please contact me for a quote if you non-mainland.I will also send toEurope please contact me for an accurate quote; and also to U.S.A., Canada,South Africa, Australia, New Zealand and Japan.
