These binoculars are in amazing condition. I bought them about a year ago from South West Optics who had previously sold them brand new to an aged customer in 2010. The old person had not used them due to rapidly deteriorating health and the binoculars stayed in the box until SWOptics bought them back and sold them to me. I have only taken them out birding about 5 or 6 times. I prefer 7x magnification so these were a bit of an experiment to see how I got on with the 8.5x. I don’t use them at all now.They are immaculate with all the paperwork and accessories, including the digital camera adaptor and even the cleaning cloth is unused. I doubt you’ll find any that are as near to new as these ones.The ID number shows that they were made in 2009. The first year the original EL was made was 1999 and the last year 2009 so this is one of the last ELs made before the introduction of the flat field Swarovision models. So this is the best non-Swarovision EL model available with the latest coatings, and improvements, etc. With Swarobright(di-electric) prism coatings, the faster focus and non-stick, easy-to-clean, Swaroclean lens coatings and updated anti-reflective lens coatings which Swarovski calls Swarodur and Swarotop. This is the latest and best version of the non-Swarovision EL 8.5×42 you can get.They’re Swarovski so you know they are the best.Any questions, please ask.If the postage works out cheaper than estimated, I’ll refund the difference.Please see my other listings which include a Swarovski scope.
