Don’t be fooled by the price, these binoculars are truly excellent. We’re often reviewed against other brands such as Steiner, Leica, Canon, Celestron, Bushnell, Nikon, etc. and we punch above our price. BBC Sky at Night voted us test winner against sets 3-4x the cost! These 12x50s are good value and highly durable. They can be used for astronomy, bird watching, hill walking, sporting events such as horse racing, hiking or travel.12×50 means 12x magnification with 50mm lenses. They’re a nice upgrade over our 10x50s without narrowing the field of view too much.They offer ample light gathering for most uses yet are small enough to fit in your glove box, rucksack or panniers and are easy to hold. This set can be tripod mounted using our metal L bracket if desired.Many manufacturers cut corners and make binoculars as cheaply as possible. We use BAK-4 glass, others use inferior BAK-7 and make them sub-size.
