I am rather ashamed to say I bought this a couple of years ago on a whim and have never used it. I am also in an awful location for light pollution. Now my partner is claiming she has a better use for the space in our conservatory!
These were an expensive and serious telescope when new. German made with some Japanese components they had a reputation for optical quality. This is a serious bit of kit and should really go to someone for whom this is a serious hobby, and with the space and location to make good use of it.
The telescope is of the Newtonian Reflector type with a lens of 114mm diameter and focal length of 910mm, giving a maximum practical visual power of x230. Mounting is the German equitorial type. The telescope has fine tracking controls.
It can be fitted with a motor drive (not included in the set I bought)
Collection, and cash on collection, is preferred. I am in PR5, 2 miles SE ofPreston and under 2 miles from junction 29 on the M6I would be prepared to consider dismantling, packing and despatching but this would require specific quotes and you would have to bear in mind that carriers will now only provide a very limited insurance for optical and scientific instruments. As the length and weight, packed, will exceed the limits for ‘economy’ services the carriage cost is likely to be in the order of 25 inc vat.
