I’m selling my 6 inch refractor (the lens is 6 inches across). This is a very large telescope. It’s an older model Skywatcher Evostar 150. It’s in good condition though the paint has a few dings here and there. It’s fitted with an extremely smooth Skywatcher 10:1 dual speed Crayford focuser which I bought new a couple of years ago and is as new, a William Optics 2″ star diagonal so that it can take 2″ and 1.25″ eyepieces and mounted on a very old but still functional CG5 mount that comes with a 6 volt hand controller. For the full asking price I can throw in some 1.25″ eyepieces too so that it’s ready to observe with. The price of this new would be well over a grand, but due to the age of the mount, the scope being an older model and me wanting the garage space, I’ll let it go for 400 ovno. This is perfect for observing galaxies, globular clusters and can be used to view the planets, though due to the lens design, it does give some purple fringing on extremely bright objects like planets. I’ve included a camera phone photo of the view through the eyepiece using a very wide angle eyepiece to sow that the optics are in perfect working order. I’m selling these as they are surplus to requirement and no longer get used. The batteries for the motor are not included in this sale, though for about 10 you can buy a large capacity 6 volt battery from Maplins.
Due to the size and weight of this item it is collection only from Didcot in Oxfordshire.
