ScarceZeiss Fussartillerie D.F. 6x binoculars
These highly desirable and scarce early D.F. 6X binoculars are inscribed with the Foot Artillery name Fussartillerie over the D.F.6x with the military number No.1306 below. They have 20.5mm diameter ocular tubes and 41mm wide top cover plates. The serial number on the frame is 5441. These are in original worn but usable condition. Most of the original black paint is rubbed away, but the original leather is very good with just a couple of tiny parts missing next to the hinge frame. The eye cups are original. They have a neck strap which although a period one, is not correct for this model. The lenses and prisms are clean but when back viewed, a prism chip can be seen. However, this is mostly out of the line of sight and only shows a very small shadow on the extreme edge with normal viewing. This has virtually no undue affect on the otherwise clear viewing. The oculars focus smoothly.
