The Stepruva was without doubt one of the best binoculars that Ross produced and it’s still a fine binocular today. It has a large field of view with a very sharp image and a wide ‘sweet spot’. Chromatic aberration (colour fringing) is very well controlled, much better than most modern roofs for example. The eyepieces are just about perfect, comfortable to use but still allowing the large field of view to be seen completely.
