The Revelation 15×70 BAK-7 FMC Porro Prism Binoculars are ideal beginner’s astronomical observation binoculars – though more experienced observers will appreciate how much binocular you get for such a reasonable outlay. These excellent value binoculars have 70mm fully multicoated objective lenses and good quality BAK-7 internal prisms. These 15x70s are light enough (1.4kg/3lb) to be hand held, though also feature a central bar mounting bush, for attaching a binocular L-clamp in order to mount them on any standard photographic tripod with a 1/4-inch Whitworth mounting thread.
These 15x70s are capable of resolving the major planets as tiny discs, showing the phases of Venus, the moons of Jupiter, many of the Messier and NGC list of deep sky objects and beyond this are creditable terrestrial performers too for wildlife, sport and general observation.
Rubber armoured with soft feel coating, these 15×70 binoculars are durable, but not waterproofed. It is possible to adjust the collimation of these binoculars by revealing microscrews (hidden just under the rubber coating on the top of each prism housing), which when adjusted, control the individual pitch of the internal prisms of both sides – ensuring your binoculars remain performing at their best.
