The Revelation 12″ F/5 M-CRF Premium Dobsonian (White) is an extremely well-specified Newtonian system on a heavy duty Dobsonian manual mount. Offering a 40% increase in light gathering power over the Revelation 10″ Dobsonian, the 12″ features a BK7 optical glass 12″ 1/12th wave f/5 (1520mm) Parabolic Primary Mirror, supported by a 9 point mirror cell with integral cooling fan to reach optimum observing temperature in the shortest time possible. This scope also features a 10:1 Precision dual speed 2″ focuser (with 35mm extension tube for some eyepieces and accessories), 8x50mm Revelation Achromatic Finder with reticule, a 9mm (1.25″) Revelation Plossl eyepiece and a 30mm (2″) Superview eyepiece (giving x169 and x51 respectively).Adjustable CNC bearings on the altitude axis help with balancing the telescope when using heavy eyepieces and accessories and the azimuth bearing in the wooden base ensures just the right amount of movement to give tracking a smooth, controlled feel – even when working at high powers.The visual magnitude reach of the Revelation 12″ F/5 M-CRF Premium Dobsonian is +15.4 mag from a good site (assuming reasonable individual eyesight and dark adaption) making this a very serious observer’s instrument, capable of beginning to resolve spiral structure in the brightest of galaxies and giving the user the possibility of hunting out some of the more “difficult” deep sky objects (with appropriate filters).
