Up for sale are a vintage pair of Zeiss D.F. 7 x 50 binoculars. They carry the additional stamps of ‘M’ over ‘Anchor’ on the left and ‘Artl’ over the serial number 0135 on the right (sorry for my poor photos). Now not really my area but I have sold German military binoculars before and I have seen the D.F. 7 x50s about with the ‘Eagle’ and ‘N’ stamp marks etc. However, I haven’t been able to locate a similar pair with the ‘M’ over ‘Anchor’ mark so am really in the dark as to what exactly they are and when they date to. Obviously, the Anchor might signify Merchant Navy but I am really just guessing but possibly an unusual pair or at least hard to find elsewhere. They have the additional benefit of retaining the original eye cup shield. Condition obviously shows some age related signs of wear and use but no obvious damage. Would clean up a bit, especially in the eye cup areas. Both eye focusing rings smooth and functional. Optically, actually still quite good, one or two odd internal specks. They do have the inner graticule although this is at a bit of an angle (not sure how it is meant to sit). As you can imagine, over time, they would have been knocked out of sync so would require re-aligning to get the one image effect. The strap has a fair bit of age/wear and tear and the shield, although still in fair condition, has one of its loops broken. Any questions welcome.
