RARE collector’s piece for Militaria and binoculars collectors alike
with Case, inscribed J.N. 4445

World War 2

 
Rare Westinghouse HMR Binoculars from 1944 World War 2 / WW2
Binoculars suffered a blow that made front right lens and inside right lens damage and damage to casing.            
Can still look through it but you can see on edges it will be blurred
Right side repairs have been made
the screws on body near the right eyepiece are not original
it is likely these binoculars have been used in the 2nd world warComes with case
inside the case it is marked with initials and numbers: J.N. 4445 although not sure if the case is original to the binoculars as the case looks in pretty good condition still and much less banged up than the binoculars
The ring on front right can’t be turned back into it and there’s a gap between body and lens ring,
they are more of a talking point and rare collector’s piece rather than binoculars you would use today
Looking through the left side has horizontal and vertical lines to better gauge/calculate distance to target.Interesting piece, please see all photos for details
