WW1 VintageLeather Cased Carl Zeiss JenaTelactem 8X BinocularsSerial 356055Supplied ByDollond LondonCirca 1914Original pairs of these highly collectable early Zeiss binoculars are becoming increasingly scarce.A pair of leather cased Carl Zeiss Jena Telactem 8X binoculars serial number 356055 is from manufacture year 1914. They are marked with full Zeiss details and to the central bar Dollond London. Dollond’s were the London agents for the supply of Zeiss instruments at the time, obviously supply ceased from Germany at the out break of WW1 so these were amongst the last to be retailed in London. In extremely good condition with only minor external wear marks, the optics are undamaged with no fungus growth within. Very minor dust particles from age they return very good images and the prisms are aligned so no double vision. The case has wear however is in excellent condition for its vintage, the strap to case is weak so would need replacing if to be used on a daily basis.
