An old pocket size set of binoculars in a leather pouch.The binoculars are only 6.5 cm’s wide when closed in their casing and extend to 12 cm’s. The casing is just 2.5 cm’s wide. It has “Busch Winett binocular Pat applied for written to one side and Asprey engraved to the other. The lens casing has a leather covering and the binocular fits tightly into it’s original leather pouch with the Asprey London gold lettering and embossed H.A.D. on the flap.I do not know anything about binoculars but I can tell you the lens fold out as they should and you adjust them to the required width. The lens then extends and you have to turn to focus. The lens and glass are intact though the glass has age related wear and may benefit from a good clean. The metal casing is good and solid with age related surface loss. The leather covering to the lens shows considerable wear. The leather pouch is in solid functional condition with typical age related wear. The item has been well used and handled over the last 90-100 years.I believe the binocular dates circa 1910 – 1920.12 photos show the item from all sides and are a good reflection of condition – please view them all.
