This is a really nice and unusual pair of antique binoculars made towards the end of the 19th century by Neuhofer & Sohn, 8 Kohlmarkt, Vienna – clear markings around the eyepiece rims. They are quite low power magnification and have unusually large eye lenses of 28 mm visible diameter and they work really well, particularly in poor lighting conditions. They are of aluminium construction so are very light to handle, and have an undamaged leather covering round the tubes. They are housed in a contemporary hard leather case made by a company who were near neighbors at 5 Kohlmarkt, Vienna, called Simon Waldstein. The case is a little too tall for these glasses so they have been stored partly open – there is a slightly visible level of better preservation of the finish of the extending barrels below halfway open due to this factor. Focusing is smooth and positive and the case is in good condition although the lid handle restraint on one side has become unstitched on one side as shown.

Guarantee

You may return the item for any reason at your own expense within 14 days from receipt for a full refund of the purchase price.
