The Questar has long been regarded as the finest personal telescope in the world. This particular Duplex model is in brand new condition, appears never to have been used. 1-DP=8361-BB. Optics were tested at Stellafane event, and as expected live up to Questar superiority. In addition to the telescope’s legendary resolution, flatness of field and contrast, the Questar has integrated features that are unavailable with other telescopes. It provides three power changes per eyepiece, an internal finder and two telescopic powers. Included also is solar filter for finder lens, off-axis glass solar filter (still wrapped in original tape) and focusable eyepiece diopter. The barrel rotates for viewing height adjustment and is silk-screened with a functional matching dew cap. The equatorial fork mount is brushed cast aluminum, aircraft polyurethane painted, with friction drive alt-azimuth controls. It includes an AC powered synchronous clock drive motor and declination clamp. The setting circle for Right Ascension and Declination is fully functional. The RA circle is universal for northern and southern hemispheres. The Duplex stores in a carrying case that has pockets for the included tabletop legs, solar Filter and AC adapter cord. Comes with solar filter and two eyepieces. Both are Questar Brandon 24 and 16 mm. Case is vinyl with mild scuff up on front top. Ando comes with original owner’s manuals Questar Book 1 and 11. This scope can be passed down as a family heirloom and will last unknown generations. Needs no service
