This is a very high performance telescope “The McLeod” by Negretti & Zambra, one of the finest manufacturers of optical instruments. It is very powerful and also has immense depth of field with the movement from minimum focus of around 30 feet to maximum of infinity achieved by less than 4 cm of tube movement. This makes it ideal for stalking and general wildlife use and it has its original carrying case intact and undamaged. The telescope has lost its fixed section covering and there are a couple of dings on that part but the rest of the tubes are in very good, undamaged condition and all joints are exactly as they should be. The object lens is big with a visible lens diameter of 5.5 cm giving a very good low light capability. There is just a suggestion of minor fungal issues with one spot visible as shown in the last picture but this has no performance implications at all. The end section and the case have been marked by the original owner, A J Stannard RCA which is likely to be the Royal Canadian Artillery. The telescope measures 86 cm in length when fully extended and 27 cm when closed, and overall inside its case it is 29 cm long and about 8.5 cm diameter. 

It is rather heavy and will exceed the 2 kg limit for small postal packages so we have only quoted UK parcel delivery costs. However, we are happy to post anywhere in the world but ask bidders to contact us for a P&P estimate for their country before bidding. To give some idea of P&P costs using the Parcelforce Globalvalue service the total P&P for buyers in the USA or Canada will be 42.50, for Italy or Spain 35.50 and for Australia or New Zealand 65.

All payments must be in UK Pounds and international or non-UK buyers can only pay by Paypal

UK buyers only can pay by Paypal or cash on collection, personal cheques and Postal Orders are also accepted, but may delay postage while cleared. .

Packing and Postage

Your items will be very carefully packed and sent by the most economical, safe and insured option depending on the anticipated sales value, size and weight – if the actual postage cost is less than we expected we will refund any excess payment after posting. If you would prefer an enhanced postal service from the one we have selected please ask us for a quotation for the extra cost. We need your full address in clear English but if you send the same details in your own language we will also add this to the label. Please note that the UK postal service will not accept a PO Box number address for “Signed For” post. We are happy to ship anywhere in the world so, if the P&P for your country is not listed, please request a quotation before bidding. 

Import Duty

We have not included any charges related to the importation into your country – this is your responsibility. We always declare the final selling price as the value of the goods on customs declarations..

Guarantee

You may return the item for any reason at your own expense within 14 days from receipt for a full refund of the purchase price. In addition, we will refund the purchase price and the return postage if the item has a material defect that was not described or obvious from the pictures of the item, or if the item is significantly different from the description given. To obtain such a refund you must send the item back to us within a reasonable time in the same condition as you received it. If you return the item please mark it clearly as “Goods returned to Seller for Refund”. If you are unhappy with your purchase for any reason please contact us before leaving feedback and we will make every effort to reach a satisfactory solution.
