This is a WW2 German dkl (Jos. Schneider, Kreuznach) 10×80 (45) Flak binocular. After the component metal parts were polished the binocular was fully overhauled optically and mechanically by OptRep Optical Repairs. The optics give a brilliant image and the eyepieces, PD mechanism and three filters (plus one clear) work faultlessly. The rubber brow rest is adjustable and can be removed. Extended brass sunshades are fitted.
The substantial tripod is a superb Zeiss wooden one and is fitted with a Manfrotto fluid motion head which, with its long handle, gives easy, smooth directional control. Rubber feet can be fitted to the tripod (if requested) for use on indoor or veranda floors. The binoculars can be quickly released from and fitted to the tripod. This binocular is perfect for general observation and astronomy.
