A rare chance to buy what appears to be an unused Polarex Telescope complete in wooden case. it still has the original straw packaging and twine. The lens and eyepieces are clear and unmarked and the sun filter is there although I would advise against using this. I have left it in for “completeness”
There are a few very minor issues due to storage. I have tried to show these in the photos. Some of the screw heads on the tripod legs have started to corrode. There is a chip of paint from the dew shield and a scratch. The case hinges have started to form a slight surface rust and a small piece of veneer has broken away from the corner of the case.
The leather handle of the case is in very good condition showing little wear.
I haven’t attempted to assemble the telescope wanting to keep it in as good condition as possible.
Would make a great addition to a collector of vintage quality telescopes.
I will be listing some more of my collection of 60mm telescopes soon including a Carl Zeiss Telementor, Asahi Pentax and Pentax J60 (no tripod legs) and another Polarex but not as good condition as this one. All quality vintage telescopes. Also a Swift 3″ telescope, Vixen SP102 ota and a Brass Tele Vue Renaissance 4″ telescope and tripod in excellent condition.
