Here I am selling my Pentax PF-65 ED II spotting scope along with a

Celestron Zoom Eyepiece 1.25 in – 8-24mm #93230.   Both sourced from the USA. I don’t see many of these for sale here in the UK. 

The scope is a very nice scope and it takes standard 1.25 inch telescope eyepieces.  This is the straight viewing model.   It comes with a nifty black carrying bag and of course the lens covers.  There is a slide forward hood for the objective lens to reduce glare in the sun. 

The 8-24 zoom eyepiece works nicely in the scope to change from wide angle to more zoomed in.  There is a tripod mount on the base. 

I bought this when I was in NY three years ago as a toy really, and never really used it.  It was one of those ‘guy toy’ moments that passed quickly. 

It has never been in the dirt and indeed has been used about ten times at the most. I think it’s been outside twice when i went for a walk.  You get it – it’s basically mint. 

It has spent most of the last 3 years in it’s bag in storage. 

Outside is unmarked.  Optics are unmarked.  No dust, moisture or anything inside. 

It’s waterproof, fog proof and would suit hunters, birdwatchers or anyone who needs a nice rugged little telescope really.

I’m only selling it because I’ve bought something else on eBay and I have a rule that if I buy something, then I have to sell something else so my stock of junk doesn’t grow.:)

The Pentax PF-65ED II Scope Body is designed for high-precision outdoor viewing. It has been improved over its predecessor by further minimizing color aberrations, resulting in truer colors. These scopes use 1.25″ diameter eyepieces, which allow less compacting of the light shaft produced by the objective lens and thus a larger image with superior depth perception. This is a great feature, for in addition to the brilliant offerings from Pentax themselves it also means you can use the best of astronomy eyepieces from elite telescope manufacturers such as Meade, Celestron and of course the venerable Tele Vues. The PF-65ED II has a focal length of 390mm, so if you’re using conventional 1.25″ eyepieces you divide 390mm by the focal length of your eyepiece to determine the effective magnification. Pentax ED scopes function brilliantly in many conditions of light and climate, and are remarkably light thanks to their metallic alloy housing. Pentax’s scopes are available in either a straight viewing or angled viewing depending upon your needs.
