Found in a box the loft, where they’ve been for the last 50 years.
Pair of heavy, but small, Carl Zeiss binoculars also bearing the imprint “Turaciem 12 x 40”
In sound condition but with a bit of covering missing – not immediately noticeable, but please see photo
In their original leather case (wear totally consistent with age) but the lid has become partally unstitched.
Carries an original label dated 23/3/1930 about customs duty and the name of the owner (who eventually became Chief Purser of Cunard Line and Purser of the original Queen Mary) but believe they were second hand when purchased. . so as I am no expert I have no idea of their real age
