Officine Galileo, Italian binoculars, 8 x 40, c1930?

Made by a renowned Italian company of 150+ years experience in optics and manufacturers of military equipment home and abroad.

Single eye focus (no central focus wheel) with additional eye relief.  ie: an extra variable length sitting the face to the eye lens to achieve optimum view.  The Italian on the extra length translates as “with glasses” and “without glasses”. It reduces halo effect.

Although not specified, there is a rainbow coating on the object and eye lenses.  The view has excellent distance focus and good 3D.

There is a slight bloom through the left sight, all prisms and lenses look like they could do with cleaning, but are just aged and not damaged.  There is a scuff on the right lens housing.  The glue on the left object leather is loose but otherwise whole and good.

The velvet lined leather case is in excellent condition with sound stitching and a good strong strap.
